1. Pokez Restaurant in downtown is a quality mexican food for 'taco shop' (San Diegans use this term to describe all quick and easy mexican food restaurants) prices. Table service is preferred, but take-out is a win as well. Chips and salsa are EPIC. Don't think that you can stop at one basket. EVERYTHING on the menu is a sure food coma. I wouldn't advice jumping in a pool right after eating. Average bill with a drinks are around $9 with tip.
2. Mama's Bakery in North Park is a hole in the wall Lebanese/Mediterranean place that has limited patio seating and is easy to get take out. Average prices are a little more than I want to pay. But the shop changed ownership a few years ago and the I guess the new owner is a little more greedy. Same food though. I love it. I recommend the chicken shawarma plate.
3. Rocky's in Pacific Beach. BEST hamburgers in the world. 21+ only. This place get slam packed during lunch and dinner everyday. It's best to hit the off times for a quality experience. You will NOT be disappointed.
